Just one more thought: Your ink cartridges sound horrendously expensive. Ever tried refilling the old ones? I have refilled my Epson ones loads of times now, and I am waiting for the inkjets on my wife's HP unit to fail. So far her black cartridge is on its fourth refill and it still works perfectly!
