Thanks for your concern. My observations so far:
Some pilots have already left for employment in the sandbox, Asia, charter/freighter operators etc. Some are on LOA and some have resigned or are on furlough and may not return if recalled. Some have returned to or joined the military (the military is short of pilots here).
There is a large retirement factor over the next 5 years (about 100 per year mostly from the CDN pilot group). Assuming that the wings don't fall off it again then there is a good upside for the recall of furloughed pilots. A downside to that is that AC hired a considerable number of older pilots (even up to age 45+ at date of hire) so the recovery window is not there for them.
