You've got to wonder about the media here. There is no way this competition is b/w 772ER/345.
Boeing are pitching the 7E7/777 combo and even offering short-term 332 leases until the 7E7 is available and Airbus seems to be offering the 332/333. To replace 763s with 345s would be completely insane.
What does appear to be the case is that if Boeing wants to win this order,they may have to come to the party a bit more price-wise. There is no doubt the airline prefers the 7E7/777 combo that would eventually allow for the 773ER to replace the 744s and have an all twin International fleet either GE/RR powered.
Airbus will win however, on the present submitted offers is what I have heard.
