Engineer, JAL 747 rear bulkhead failure was due to an improperly performed (by Boeing) repair, not a design defect.

As was the ORD engine pylon, Maxalt...MX used an unapproved procedure during an engine change that cracked it...trying to save time and $$, with the usual results from such practices.

Perhaps a better word for the -10 is 'unlucky'... but those that fly it seem to like it well enough. Like any other DC-plane it's well put together, IMHO. I'd fly one any time.
