We certainly have had no shortage of applications from well-qualified and experienced pilots,” he said. “Ultimately, we’re looking for people with a passion for the business and who are committed to making our business model work.”

I love this! where is this companies commitment to it's staff.... Oh thats right it ends with the "Pay Chq". Over the years we sit and watch the incumbents attempt to ruin our careers, they stay 5yrs, we stay 35yrs, they tell us we must be more company orientated/focused/passionate, they screw the Company then bail with a Golden parachute! we stay...who's more committed!!!!!

When will Management learn the long serving staff in any Company/Airline care more for the health and performance of that outfit than they ever will.
As for well qual & expereinced pilots, Ill be the judge of that. Other than an Accident inquiry, when will experience really count or be valued or will minimums do! (apparently so). do we continually need to park the Ambulance at the bottom of the cliff? SIA should know this more than other Airlines.

If induviduals are stupid/desperate enough to work for these conditions/operators then good luck to them.

PS; I think we have all forgotten why we are feed crew meals while on duty, What we are seeing here are well established, historical safety net's slowly being removed in the name of minimizing costs, maximizing shareholder returns. these should be viewed as threats to safety as much as our Profession, therefore there will in time be a consequence.

Think about that next time you pax a VBA
