Yes sir you are right.
I have made a mistake, with my terminology.
I should have written " stick hours "
Three or four years of logging the time they spend sleeping in the bunk as flight time on long haul after going through flight training from zero hours(ie; they log all the time the aircraft is in the air even if they are not in the cockpit ) does wonders for ones " total flight time ".
Use the real measure of experience and the time would come quite close to the amount I quoted.
Maybe they watch technical movies instead of those that the passengers watch or maybe they go through flight techniques in their sleep. They learn manuals by rote but the understanding and experience gained from time spent flying is woefully lacking in many.
