I'd be making calls too, rather than emails, at least for initial contact. Sometimes it can be very difficult to get through to the important (they like to think so ) people, but perseverence does pay off.

It's also quite rare to hear of companies "looking for pilots", rather the jobs are snapped up by Johnny on the spot.

A few companies that would be worth a call, in the order my brain recalls them:
Gulfline, Karumba;
Cape Air Transport, Horn Island;
some company using (used??) a 206/210 out of Aurukun;
Oasis Air, Halls Creek
Slingair, Kunnunurra
Alligator, as above
dude at Fitzroy Crossing, can't remember name
Broome Aviation, Broome strangely enough
King Leopold Air, Broome
Golden Eagle, Derby
Polar Aviation, Port Hedland maybe
Ord Air, Wyndham
NAC, Darwin et al
Maybe Hardy Aviation, not sure what their story is

There's plenty more around, but that should get you started.

Also, very important, if you call and can't get through to the chief pilot or whoever, never discount the person answering the phone. Quite often they are pilots who not long ago were in the same boat as you, and often can influence who is hired next. Ask about other companies you could try, what sort of hours they look for, etc.

Now, get off your @rse and do some work yourself!!
