Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can get an address for the Aus mil attache and get a nice letter sorted to start the process off.
I'm not easily pulled into the "grass is greener" thing; as you say, things just aren't really floating my boat at home, and while the Australians' grass might not be greener, at least it's different grass!
