Reference your comment about the office- happy base captain, don't you just wonder how so many of the old girls can longer be found any where near an EZY aircraft ( this is catching on with flight deck also, prefering a ground job in recruitment e.t.c ) unless you wander into some of those numerous offices where you will find quite a lot of converts to the 9 -5 desk jobs. I hope easyjet will have more room for us all to convert as well. They have enough irrelevant positions to swallow us up doing office work or pretend to be doing something anyway.
We all know these planes are so advanced that your brain is not required but just your body ( fresh if you are superman but even FATIGUED will do) to occupy the seats to make it legal.
You cannot put it past these people to put a strong case to the CAA to grant them dispensation to put their mother-inlaws ( expendable) incharge of the cockpit as the only challenge in the cockpit these days is how to open the enhanced flight deck door to get out!
