Oh dear, here we go again.

Yes, lets close the bases with some of the best flying weather, situated in some of the most open airspace and near excellent flying training areas in the UK

Just because some of you (who have probably not spent more than a couple of days in Moray) have some misguided view of the area, or are so determined that you will not like Scotland before you ever get there that it taints your attitude. Get a grip of yourselves The Moray Firth air bases are situated in a beautiful part of the UK, the people are (on the whole) very friendly, the weather better than you'd expect, crime rates extremely low, housing affordable, leisure facilities from water sports to mountaineering and skiing. Yes you may be a long way away from your mummy and daddy, but you're in the military, get used to it and cuddle your teddy bear
