Retirement plans

On the flight training side of things, we are constatly hearing about how the next generation of pilots really should be trained by the previous generation, rather than by relatively inexperienced, newly minted commercial pilots as is generally the case presently. I have always harbored some serious doubts as to the reality of this sort of scenario.
My question is how many 'experienced' folks plan on whiling away their retirement years by playing a role in the education of future pilots. How appealing is the prospect for some of you of running a little FBO in a quaint town where you are happy above and beyond the aviation scene? We all know that these things don't pay great financial dividends, but the more esoteric rewards make it, for myself, anyways, a great existence.
