Yes, it's possible for the boots to be removed however the a/c's 'flight into icing' approval will also be lost. The anti-iced windscreen & props aren't related to the boot system and, on their own, won't be sufficient to retain the known ice approval although there's nothing that says the equipment must be removed also.
