Brooklands Concorde

I attended a talk last evening by Nik Read from Brooklands Museum on the Bac111 - very entertaining and informative. At the end of the meeting leaflets were handed out regarding the Concorde that Brooklands have been allocated and the following is an extract from that.

G-BBDG was built as the first British production concorde. She flew for many years in BA colours but never in actual airline service. Long since retired, she has been hangared at Filton for over 20 years before being allocated to the Brooklands Museum at the end of last year.

To get DG to Brooklands, she will have to be dismantled, moved 100 miles by road, re-assembled and fitted out and put under cover. That will cost £1million and any help/donations towards this figure will be much appreciated. The move is anticipated to take place in May and £250,000 is needed by them.

Any donations towards this figure would be very welcome. Details of how to pay can be found on the Brooklands website
(www.brooklandsmuseum.com)

Apologies to forum mod if this is in the wrong place or breaks any rules but any publicity for this move can only be a good thing
