What a joke of a word.
Why not call them murderers, rapists, thieves and cut-throats that they really are!!!
The majority of PNG people are humble god-fearing folk but these guys ought to be treated as any heinous fellon.
The fact remains that law and order is a joke, the criminal justice system leaves alot to be desired and their jails are a farce.
Get rid of payback, bride-price, compensation and the wontok system (which protects alot of these criminals) and you may get half a chance of order in their society.
I know its their culture but at what cost??
As one mate of mine said in the eighties after being savaged by a machete "what these guys need is Lee Kuan Yu running the show with 3 thousand South African policeman!!"
Sounds very racist but a practicle solution according to this mate that lost 2 litres of blood and almost an arm.
