I have been a RMS engineer too long to end up designing something that could fail causing my dear wife misery along with the destruction of a very expensive model. The destruction would be caused not by the model hitting the floor but by my wife hitting the roof and smashing the model.
The model would have a multi point suspension consisting of multi windings of 17 pound “Trilene” fishing line attached to three or four National Suspended Ceiling Hooks. This would be a very robust installation. However, I did not design my suspended ceiling and this is what might fail and this would cause both my wife and I a lot of collective misery.
Besides a good scale RC model can cost upwards of a thousand dollars and for that price I can get 20 $100.00 models at factory cost.
