Question Fear of the rain/snow boundary

Unless the rain/snow boundary is abrupt, associated with a front and/or possible warm air aloft, I've never had much problem with the sticky stuff flying from rain into snow or vise-versa. It seems to me that quite a few pilots treat the rain/snow boundary like forecast freezing rain and avoid it at all cost.

Have I been lucky these past two decades and built up a false sense of security?
