I think the dropped pilot landed on his head! Shame the clinic is so overcrowded that he can not get an appointment for some help.
He has missed the whole point of the postings on this forum. Our management ruined a perfect oppurtunity to communicate with its pilot body at a recent meeting. If it had just used the meeting as a forum to discuss pilot concerns, rather than completely ignore and dismiss them, the postings on this forum would be far different. We were given a very glossy paper prior to the meeting (the contact mag!), in which TCK stated the points that were to be discussed. What false advertising this turned out to be, as none of it happened. They would have been far better to have just called the whole meeting off before hand, as it was a waste of everybodies time.
EK is a great place to be. But I think most can see the writing on the wall. Our conditions are erroded daily without any consultation (how many pilots were involved in the recent pilot pay review? how many were told they would have accelled commands only to be told after contract signing that the rules are now changed? Does anyone remember the meeting not that long ago when we were told that DECs would need a min of 3000hrs wide body command....when did the A320 become a wide body? We were told at a meeting that expat contracts change all the time and we should expect this...well I do not see this mentioned on the careers web site!).
We are told times are good for EK at the moment and this is how we are treated, We had better be very careful when times decline!
It is a shame that an airline that embraces modern Technostuff for airplanes and IFE, can not move its managment style out of industrial age Britian (and no that is not a slur on our Brit comrades!).
