Airport reopens after crash

Humberside Airport has reopened after a light aircraft crashed there.
One man died and two others were injured.

The incident happened at 1233 GMT on Saturday during a pilot's exam and saw the Cessna 421 plane crash and burst into flames.

Police say the man who died was the examiner supervising the test.

The 45-year-old Saudi Arabian died in S****horpe General Hospital where he had been taken with severe burns.

The instructor, who is 62 and from north Lincolnshire, suffered a shoulder injury.

Investigations begun

A helicopter airlifted the pupil to hospital in Grimsby where he is being treated for head injuries.

Officers say the pupil was the owner of the plane which had flown to Humberside Airport from Guernsey earlier on Saturday morning.

A Humberside Police spokesman said problems began when the student attempted a series of manoeuvres in the plane.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch has begun an inquiry
