Instructing.............. Love it!
300hrs + in a summer, all PIC time, but the pay is normally only based on airborne time. So just pray for good weather and X-Winds to be within limits. The norm for PPL is £12-18 per hour.
But be prepared for long hours in the summer, the Trial Lesson who tells you they feel sick about 3 nanoseconds before the
empties the contents of their stomach all over the instruments of the pride of the fleet
, and the student who was so nervous they forgot to use the deodorant before working hard in a hot cockpit. Any clubs out there got a training bird with air conditioning?
I did the FIC about 6 months before my IR so my total hours looked better on the CV. Still hunting!
I've had some really good times instructing. Sure you'll enjoy it if you get the rating.
