I've got death and a seperate disability cover with Royal Sun Alliance which I got through a broker here in Cairns.
But If I recall it was somewhat round about at getting it. I already had policies with R S A but they excluded the flying part.
First up I had to get off shore (through LLoyds I think) and after one or two years the broker was able to get R S A to drop the flying exclusion and the price remained the same.
So even if you initially have to pay more it won't necessarily stay that way. I can give you the brokers name if you want it, but he's a long way from your place.
He is a pilot as well and has a lot of clients through our local aero club and airport. so he has a good understanding of the situation.
