Don’t understand why you insert that EU element here. No EU parties involved in this investigation as far as I know.
My suggestion would be to abstain from any ‘blame’ in the spirit of investigation. And limit ourselves to this specific case.
If anyone would discuss approaches to investigations - limiting us to this specific Air India case, it would be more valid to mention that as quoted in the respected press “US officials and industry members” have put out the “suicide cause” (based on CVR extracts which were recently declared ‘closed to the public’ by ms Homendy in the two high profile US investigations). Leaking from the US like this has happened more than once over the years.There is a precedent case where the NTSB on a possible suicide case came up with a contrary report to a foreign report rejection suicide as a cause. Such a contrary report is exceptional but should be the place to put it.
Not following that road in the past made it harder to discuss suicide as a factual option. In that sense the Germanwings case in France put the issue back on the table.
