The base figures are just that - £27pbh and £2.93pdh with a target of 800hrs per year make up to a fairly competitive yearly salary IMO. PCS (I'm sure it's been discussed elsewhere in this forum) was looking to move a lot of that variable pay into basic, but obviously hasn't been voted in.
Plus as somebody mentioned above, 6% employer 15% company into pension will be hard to match elsewhere, plus staff travel in first class (DECs) ((when the flight isn't overbooked!

)) make up for some pretty decent perks when they work. I'm not sitting here pretending it's all roses, but I think an accurate depiction is fair for people considering an application.
