I can't see any way for an OCTA flight through the Sydney basin anymore, except over water at 500 down Victor 1.

Anything else requires clearance through the newfangled Class D or over the Blue Mountains with, at most, 1000' clearance AGL...And as the saying goes... old pilots, bold pilots, yadda yadda. I wouldn't want to fly over that terrain with that little air underneath me.
