To me the HMS Dragon issue seems to show that we aren't really ready to respond to imminent threats but what do you all think please.
To quote a famous war film "God willing, we will hold out Minister".
I don't think we have ever been ready for war but at the moment I feel we are the weakest we have ever been. Weak militarily in numbers and kit. Weak socially where people believe any old tosh fed to them on social media. Weak politically. But not weak in the people that make up our armed forces. I do believe every person in the UK believes in our armed forces. I just hope we can give our armed forces the support they demand.
My great uncle served in WW1 and we lost a relative at Loos. My father served in the Navy in WW2. My uncles in Burma.
Sadly I have never known a period where war was not raging somewhere across the globe.
Perhaps we are destined to destroy ourselves? Peace seems to be a folly only fools can dream of.
