Which is for industrial/contractual reasons rather than impossibility.
Pre Brexit TUI UK and TUI Nordic were effectively operating on a single AOC - in reality they had dual AOCs but perfectly mirrored so anyone could do anything whether it was a G- or SE- registered aircraft. So the UK CAA will allow mixing of AOCs, just not with foreign ones anymore for obvious reasons.
