FYI Network management absolutely HATE their Pilots. They will crucify you in a meeting with "managers" if you put a foot wrong or make a mistake, or even just have an incident that's not your fault, they will NEVER support you if you have a problem at work or at home. Most pilots there have either given up, are looking to get out, some have a few years to go so just "put up with it". The jets are a disgrace & you will be late home every day, the flying is dangerous and after 12 months you likley will be pissed off and looking for another job, forget Qantas because Network won't "let you go" Your family will get sick of hearing the stories, you will start drinking more, sleeping less, getting fat, your wife will leave you, your kids won't want to be around you, your self esteem will implode, your mates will stay away from you, coz they are sick of hearing about how bad it is. Then you will become a "trainer" to try and get some respect and that won't work, now you are in freewill, just waiting to hit the ground. You can become friends with Evan but you will just get shanked in the showers like all snitches.
A good friend of mine left aviation altogether thanks to Network... but if you have the mental fortitude use it to build hours and gtfo of Australia. Chances are Qantas won't be expanding much in the future anyway as they keep sending all their legacy work to Network and NJS so your plan should be to leave Australia anyway.
