Depending on how European you consider them to be: DHL permitted leather flight jackets. And Lufthansa used to permit some in their historic flight unit. Some UK helicopter operators seem to use them as well and quite a few business jet pilots. It might be more of a US thing? AFAIK leather is FAA certifiable for fire resistance. Much better than plastic but maybe not up to the latest Day-Glo vest requirements?
