Started off with the usual online aptitude tests (same ones from PASS
pilotassessments.com), so nothing unexpected there.
Got invited for the HireVue video interview – 5 questions, all pretty standard stuff like:
- Why do you want to be a pilot?
- Why FlyDubai?
- What can you bring to the team?
Next was an HR interview via Teams. It’s more about attitude, motivation, and potential than flying experience. Expect around 8–10 questions in total, about yourself, why aviation, and what you know about FlyDubai. Questions are similar to what’s on PASS, so also here no real surprises.
Simulator (CAE Dubai, B737NG Level D)
This part checks your basic flying skills, CRM, and decision-making.
You’ll get a full briefing before the sim, and you’ll fly in pairs (so some waiting time).
My scenario was roughly:
- Takeoff from OOMS RWY 08L
- Radial intercept from MCT VOR
- Climb/Descent: 250 KIAS @ 1000 ft/min
- Steep turns 45° AOB
- ILS approach, then missed approach with engine failure and return to land
