It makes sense, what you describe about the 340-500 rest area, i did flew on that acft before any commercial passenger or cabin crew does ! but 1 and only 1 inconvenience is the Aft toilet when somebody flash it
regarding the A380, a big question mark ? how the cockpit will look like when half dozen of crew getting downstairs to rest area while considering SECURITY...... BOLD point for discussion

Did you ever had a chance to look what is there bellow the cockpit floor ???? don't even try to imagine ,hell of computers, cables, servers, servos and much more , that area is called avionic compartment and looks like christmas tree with blinking lights !!! if you assumed or someone told you that from "airbus data" he/she is wrong !!!
