My sympathies to Flying for Fun and West Wind. While you don't have to be a pilot or flight instructor to teach flying, it's worth remembering that a lot of crucial learning happens on the ground.
In my experience, good ground instructors are incredibly valuable. We have two who have lost their licenses but are still the backbone of our ground team. We also assign every student at all levels to a mentor pilot, one of whom has a medical issue.
Maybe you could share your knowledge and experience with others?
