The S versions of the 912, do have mixture control.
Depending on what aircraft the engine is fitted to, you can see consumption as low as 10 Lph on a cruise, but enough grunt on wide open throttle to climb at over 1500fpm.
With regards to longevity, all Rotax 912 engines have a TBO of 1500 hrs.
