I’m currently in the IFR phase of training, with just a few months left before my checkride and APS MCC course. I passed all 13 EASA ATPL subjects in Switzerland and have already completed the aUPRT course, Night VFR rating, VFR/IFR RT certificate, and ELP Level 6. I also hold the Medical Class 1 (EASA). By the time I finish, I should have obtained the CPL/IR with ME-IR (with 220 total flight hours, 40 of which are on the sim) and, of course, the APS MCC.

That being said, and please correct me if I’m wrong, my next steps to be eligible to apply to FZ are as follows:
  • Apply to CAE for the flydubai Second Officer Programme.
  • Attend the two day assessments.
  • If I receive positive feedback, confirm my availability for the TR on the 73 and pay the tuition fees (around USD 30'000).
  • Move to the UAE for seven weeks.
  • Successfully pass all checkrides.
  • Get assessed on the final check by two examiners one from CAE and one from FZ.
  • If I pass with the CAE examiner, I will likely receive a contract offer from FZ.
  • Return to Switzerland to get the 73 rating endorsed under my EASA license.
  • Go back to the UAE to sit for 14 GCAA exams, including 200 hours ground theory and the medical (around USD 5000).
  • Finally, wait to be called by FZ.
Additionally, based on other posts in this thread, I should use the Latest Pilot Jobs Emirates training package to prepare for the two-day assessment at CAE.

For anyone familiar with the upcoming batches: what would be the most feasible time to expect placement in a batch? I anticipate completing my training by the end of February or March.
Is anyone familiar with organisations in Europe that can provide base training for EASA CPL candidates other than BAA? What is the approximate cost for the base training? If I convert my license to a different country, do I still have to do the base training and have the TR endorsed on my EASA license or can I get it endorsed on my other foreign license and skip the base training.
