Israel obviously watching the dithering and endless retreats from facing up to Russia, in the hope of doing a money making deal, and deciding Trump is going to do the same thing with Iran.
So, as they see it as an existential threat, they’re going to do it themselves….

Israel ‘preparing for strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities’
Israel is believed to be preparing to strike Iran, even as the US negotiates a nuclear agreement with the country.
American intelligence has intercepted communications and observed military preparations for the possible imminent strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, CNN reported.
The account comes as tensions rise between President Trump and Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister — who had been planning a strike on Iran before the US leader vetoed the idea and instead announced talks with Tehran in March.
Israel has long advocated military action against Iran’s nuclear facilities, arguing for the complete dismantlement of Tehran’s nuclear programme. It had opposed a deal reached under Barack Obama to lift sanctions on Iran in return for reduced uranium enrichment…….
Some in Israel fear that Trump could reach a deal with Iran that stops short of dismantling the programme, and instead offers a new version of the Obama deal.
“The chance of an
Israeli strike on an Iranian nuclear facility has gone up significantly in recent months,” CNN quoted one source as saying. “And the prospect of a Trump-negotiated US-Iran deal that doesn’t remove all of Iran’s uranium makes the chance of a strike more likely.”
Jonathan Panikoff, a former US intelligence official, said: “At the end of the day, the Israeli decision-making is going to be predicated on US policy determinations and actions, and what agreements President Trump does or does not come to with Iran.”
American intelligence observed Israel moving air munitions and completing an exercise that could indicate a looming strike. The moves, however, could also have been intended to send a message to Iran.….
The Israeli government believes Iran has never been weaker. It has lost much of its deterrence in the region, after Israel decimated its allies Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza, and rebels
overthrew the Iranian ally Bashar al-Assad in Syria in December.
Israel’s government believes that they have a rare window of opportunity to deal a devastating blow to their rival Iran, but Trump is said to prefer a diplomatic deal. His Arab allies in the Gulf states have encouraged diplomacy, fearing a conflict with
Iran would spill over into their countries and oil fields and upend the peace they have made with Tehran in recent years.
