Question/looking for ATO in Germany
Hello people of Pprune, professionals and wannabes. Long time lurker here.
Long story short, as life has a funny way of guiding my way, I am recently(1.5yrs) established in Germany, Leipzig to be more precise. And because I am at a point where I would want to pursue maybe the dream of my 20s, want to start, study, finish and employ in my dream career, as a pilot. But still looking for some advices at least. I'm stating from the start that the goal would also be employment with either Aerologic or EAT.
Was looking at Aerotours for their modular ATPL programme, as the most "comfortable" option, as it's not so far and commuting would be possible and give the possibility to study from home. But in the past few days was also thinking considering TFC, as they have a partnership with Aerologic, and from what I could gather, the majority of newcomers is from them. Of course that would mean I should move to Essen, but in the end I plan on coming back to LEJ.
I know that the two, Aerotours and TFC are very different programes, one modular one integrated(I suppose the process cand be a bit "rushed" given some knowledge and preparation criteria are met), but what other good ATO would you consider in Germany that have a good name and quality of training? Cost would not be necessarily an issue, as long it doesn't exceed the psychological mark of 100k total cost of training.
Some other nugget of information would be that at least for the theory, I've been casually going through qb's in my own free time in the past 3-4 yrs, so I have some knowledge to make the thory phase easier. Also I flew ultralights when I was 18 to 25, but then work got involved and didn't have the energy and time to continue even as a hobby.
Also worth mentioning is that I'm currently 35yrs(soon 36) of age and planning to start by the end of the year.
Thank you your time to read this and thanknyou for your time to give a personal input/opinion/advice.
Have a good one.
