I think OBK's post may confuse you.

I am sure he meant to say that

"Unfortunatley, if things do get better I don't think airlines like to take on cadets OVER 28."

and

"A few airlines have a policy of not taking on low hours non-type rated pilots OVER 30 even if they have a frozen ATPL."

Basically if you have reached 30 then the only realistic way is to fund it yourself unfortunately. I know because I am one of them but I am not regretting any of it.
