What actually happens is that the maid does the housework and raises the children while the parents go out and have fun. Many children in Dubai are raised by maids. It is possible to raise normal, well-adjusted children in Dubai but it is harder than it would be at home. When the kids eventually leave Dubai the collision with reality can be dramatic.
I guess it depends where they go after leaving Dubai. If they leave for Europe or other like minded places I guess they will find themselves very much aligned with the rest of the children there.
Look it is not easy to have children in a new country completely different from one own, I understand the need to cut some slack to maintain some peace at home within the family.
But I do agree, some of our colleagues have terrible behaviors and mannerism which make them bad parents, maybe the children are better of with the maids.
