It just spoiled the photo op for Mr Bezoz. As I understand it, all crewed spacecraft are required to have a door which can be opened from the inside. Presumably, 'real' spacecraft that are going into orbit have a fairly complicated affair but this one, I'm guessing, has a pressurised aircraft style door which just opens with a lever.
