Painting scenarios.
As above, or... DT has been told in the strictest confidence that a reprisal attack on Iran will come from a certain direction, so the bombers could be there more as a symbolic back-up reminder.
(*Must seem like an awful waste of resources not to use them while there, though. Reminds me of how the mustered resources for use on Afghanistan were used in the subsequent attack on Saddam Hussein's Iraq.)
*PS Not for a minute advocating their actual use!
