People like to take advantage of the cheaper housing prices and then want the noise taken away.
Doesn't work like that though.
At one airfield I've been involved with, we have huge problems with residents complaining about noise. It isn't the folks who've lived there a long time, but people who moved there recently. The field has been there since WW2 so it's not as if it isn't known about.
