We're not recommending anyone shoot down a drone. That's illegal in Wyoming. But if someone needed to, a shotgun would be the right weapon, gun experts say.

For a shotgun to take a drone down, it pretty much has to hover close enough that you can see what it is. Beyond 150 feet, birdshot #7 or #9 is pretty much useless. Even using a tighter choke and larger shot, your odds of hitting anything is pretty low beyond 200 feet.
