Not just Spirit - Jet Blue was also hit, although they flew back to JFK before the aircraft was inspected:
For avoidance of doubt, they flew back to JFK before they became of aware of what had happened. They didn't knowingly take off on the return flight with a bullet-ridden aircraft.
