Yes it’s not perfect but I have been confirmed 24 hours out at BA. This summer travelled a SH route with whole family and got given very comfortable seats when we checked in at T5. Maybe we have been lucky but no issues so far.
As mentioned I had back up plans. I wouldn’t staff travel to a destination with 1 flight every couple of days.

EasyJet is cheaper yes but I wouldn’t say way better. I used Easy for commuting for a month and got offloaded twice.
