If you're moderately technical (not extreme/pro level, no need) I HIGHLY recommend the Unifi equipment. It's kindof pro-sumer or entry level professional gear, but it's ROCK SOLID and easy to expand.

I use it at home and at my office building (25-30 staff there generally). Pretty much the same setup in both places.

Here's what I'd recommend considering:
  • Security Gateway Pro (UXG-Pro)
  • Switch with POE (USW-Pro-Max-24-PoE)
  • Some Access Points (U7-Pro or U7-Outdoor, or other options exist on their site)
  • Then if you want video cameras, you can add their DVR and cameras

What I love about it? It's powerful, but not super complex to configure. And it just works. I don't have to mess with it. I have gone years and barely touched it. Once it's setup, it just works.
