OK, thats enough! Someone needs to come in and defend the DAMOs of this world!
One thing you loadies need to get your head around is that you are just working 1 aircraft. Often as a DAMO you can be dealing with 3 outbounds and an inbound at once. Your maybe not quite as important as you think you are. DAMOs have to allocate their time as they see fit and look at the 'bigger picture', something that maybe you crews are not used to!
Yes, we make mistakes but the job can be extremely demanding and different problems come your way each day. We have fewer and fewer guys on shift with less and less experience.
Maybe if the loadies and movers out on the pan actually work as a team a lot of problems would be solved without the DAMO having to get involved. I know of some loadies at one of the larger RAF bases who won't deal with the traffic team leader and always want to speak to the DAMO! What a waste of everyones time.
I'm sure we're all supposed to be on the same side!
