An extensive collection of safety performance and research summaries.

However, due to the wide range of views and lack of practical context, this may have little value at 'the sharp end' of work; confusing, adding to the difficulty in understanding / applying safety.

This identifies the widening gap between theory - those who write about safety, and the workers who practice 'safety'. This is much more than work as imagined vs work as done because the research relates to concepts whereas work is reality. As such this gap could be a hazard, particularly where regulators base requirements on theory.

One central theme is the need to change, adapt views of safety management to match the real world - revise how we think about safety - the safety paradigm.
