To be fair, much of the process is part of the assessment centre, it's really not all that unusual. Recruitment is the single most important thing a company can do that is not commercial, getting it wrong can be enormously expensive. Overall the experience shouldn't be too unpleasant if you're prepared and have the right attitude.
If it's too much for you, then obviously the fit isn't right.
