I have started my training with Pegasus and flew there as an FO for 2.5 years. I have been employed in the company for 4 years and recently left for the flag carrier.
Overall it’s a nice and stable company to work for. Financially the company is managed well, even during the pandemic there were no layovers. Pay is competitive, even a notch higher than flag carriers.
SOP wise they are very solid, sims and checks can stressful and your score depends a lot on the instructor. There is a large number of expat captains which you can get support from, locals are respectful but they won’t be close to you. Management can be icky, but if you just leave work at work and don’t mind people you will be happy. Management and instructors are a close knit group mostly former air force pilots, which effect the company culture. They can be unprofessional. Their HR is horrible.
Roster is fixed but can have a lot of last minute changes. You will get a lot of layovers within Turkey, Middle East and Central Asia. You won’t have much 2 legs a day. It’s mostly 3 legs with a layover (2 international+1 domestic) or 4 legs. I remember it was quite tiring with a lot of night flights and early starts.
Sabiha Gökçen is way more central than IST airport, but it is very congested and can be very tiring with long queues.
Please keep in mind that USD/TRY rate is volatile, it’s been stable for a while and pay is competitive in terms of USD, but with sudden devaluations your pay can be lowered until the next raise period.
