Your all absolutely right, there are some complete idiots within operations deparments of some airlines, likewise there are crew that seem to WANT to cause trouble! It is interesting to think how things could be improved, as the constant battle between crewing/operations and the flying community does no one any favours. Sometimes crew showing an interest in the actual process of why people were given duties helps, as it then becomes obvious as to the reason they are being called. Obviously if the crewing/ops person is just plain rude then this wont help!
Whatever, the case, it seems a shame that there has to be swearing or rudeness from either party. This just doesnt get anyone anywhere!
