Day 1: SIM assessment. They share the sim profile via email a week prior arrival into HK. A/C B777. Profile is Takeoff from Hongkong R25L, clean up, acceleration to 280kts. Turns with 30 degree bank. Steep turns(45 degree). Then examiner asked me which direction is the airport at. Speed reduction to 220kts and usage of speedbrakes. Then radar vectors ILS 07R. GA at 200 FT (minimums). Clean up and acceleration to 250kts. Fire eng L. Examiner tried to cut the live engine to check if I am cross checking his actions. SE ILS 07R to a full stop landing.
Some info about the sim. No AP, A/T, FD. MCP is frozen i.e only reference speeds such as V2, Vapp is set. HDG bug is only set for Take off and Landing. ALT window frozen at 10000ft. No thrust asymmetry compensation. Examiner is the pilot monitoring. He is passive. Gear up, clean up calls are all on you.
Results come in 30 mins. After that you go for your medical check, drug test (urine&hair).

Day 2: ICAO English test which is pretty easy provided that you are good with English and radio communications. It's a self paid test and costs about 2200 HKD. Then interview with one HR and pilot.

Technical
Walking to Aircraft, typhoon coming in, what is ur considerations?
If airport red light warning, can u pushback?
Windshear considerations for take off (he asked abt flaps for take-off during windsear).
Windshear before V1, after V1 before VR and after VR.
If windshear is inhibited during take off roll, how to tell if ure in a shear.
If u were to reject during take off roll for windshear, how would u do it.
How do you know it is last 900m / 300m of the runway. (The center line lights colour)
What system to detect predictive and reactive (plus when the inhibits happen)



Windshear. If no moisture in air, can u still detect winshear.
After reject due to windshear, what r ur considerations for another take off?
What are the considerations when flying HKG-LAX in comparison to HKG-PVG flights. (I talked abt ETOPS)
Engine failure in cruise, in the middle of the pacific how you handle?
Any flight incident?
Any conflict with colleagues?
Asked about my command situation with hka.
Do I know abt the command situation in CX.

-Cathay history, values, routes, destinations, airplanes

-Also important know about HKG, where are you planning to live, why HKG, how will manage the distance from you family.

- a time you used your skills or CRM to improve flight safety

- know about your airplane

- ETOPS, LVO, Windshear, ice operations.

After that, licence/logbook check.
