Spares shortages especially blades in the 1980's lead to a lot of aircraft receiving blades that were available regardless of origin.
The authorities have tightened up considerably since then
Also to be considered is that in some parts of the world the rules are a little lax.
Example being a Bell 206 that had an extension granted to timex main rotor TT straps by a certain African airworthiness authority.
Same aircraft which was Bell built had Agusta main blades.
